Aaron Gallegos is a filmmaker, screenwriter, and photographer based in Los Angeles, CA.
Aaron Gallegos (They/He), is a queer filmmaker originally from Ecuador. At age 11, they moved to the Chicagoland Area. They are fluent in both English and Spanish; Additionally, they are proficient in French. Growing up with roots in the developing world, and then completing their formation in the US and Europe, they have become a socially aware individual with a worldly point of view that heavily influences their voice as a storyteller. They graduated from the School of Cinematic Arts at the University of Southern California with a BFA in Film & Television Production. Additionally, they received a Screenwriting Minor along with their BFA. Aaron has been recognized with three Student Production Awards for Excellence from the Chicago/Midwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. They are knowledgeable on Film and Television Equipment and Video Editing Softwares in the Adobe Creative Cloud. Aaron focuses on cinematography and screenwriting as a filmmaker. They feel very comfortable with a camera as a tool for their creative and artistic exploration. Aaron’s style of cinematography has been described by classmates and mentors over the years as observant and naturalistic, nearing documentary style. The use of natural light and wider lenses are some notable features of their cinematography. As a screenwriter, Aaron is drawn to absurd, surreal, comedies and dramedies with a focus on Queer and Latine stories.
